We promise, by the grace of GOD, to keep bringing inspired messages to encourage, exhort, and reposition the followers of JESUS for greater responsibility in the Kingdom Business.

Today’s message is titled: Keep Your Dream Alive.

KEEP YOUR DREAM ALIVE

We shall be reading from Genesis 37:5-11

Genesis 37:5-11

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:

For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

Let us pray.

PRAYER

Heavenly FATHER, The FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, we bless YOUR Name that YOU are a GOD of revelation: The GOD that reveals our future – reveals our destiny. I pray YOU, O GOD our FATHER, to impress upon my people: our listeners, that O GOD our FATHER, that the Word of GOD will impress upon their hearts and prepare them and give them hope and help them, O GOD our FATHER, to keep their dreams alive to the glory of YOUR Holy Name…in JESUS Might Name I pray. Amen!

When it comes to dreams Joseph teaches us some important principles:

  1. Keep your dreams alive. When it seems it is dying you may be at the edge of giving birth. You must learn to keep your dreams alive because you may be at the edge of giving birth.

What are dreams anyway? Dreams are a series of images or events or feelings that happen in your mind while one is sleeping. The second definition is that, a dream may be a wish to have or be someone or be something – especially one that seems difficult to achieve: imagining something or thinking about something you would like to happen. Dreams require faith in GOD to push it to fulfillment. When you dream, you are required to keep believing GOD.

Our passage narrates to us the dreams of Joseph. Notice that the first dream which he narrated to his brothers was correctly understood by them, that they would give obeisance to Joseph. The truth of the dream was that he will eventually reign over them.

  1. The second dream reemphasized the meaning of the first dream though portrayed by the sun, moon and the stars of heaven. While the first dream generated hate from the brothers, the second dream stared a rebuke from Jacob his father. The brothers became envious and began to conceive a conspiracy against him.

The lesson is that all these reactions were known to GOD who works through all circumstances in order to accomplish HIS will in our lives. Therefore if you have abandoned your dreams, I encourage you to dream again. This time around dream bigger. If you have abandoned your dreams because of discouragement, rise up and claim it. If the challenges are too big for you, they are not too big for GOD. No person can out-dream GOD. In Genesis 18:14 the scriptures have a question for every one of us. It says, “Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to you – at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

You may die and your dream will be left on the drawing board or under construction or left to be completed by another. But you must seek GOD and dream again.

  • The third point I want to make is that you must make it a rule to cultivate the companionship of other dreamers. By interpreting the dreams of the butler and the beggar Joseph was introduced to Pharaoh who also had a dream. Pharaoh’s dream which Joseph interpreted brought change in his life. Therefore build relationships with people who also have dreams; they will strengthen your faith and shape you into the right person.

The bible says in Proverbs 27:17,

Proverbs 27:17

As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Friends, you must be both forgetful and fruitful. Your wiliness to forgive and forget sets you free from the past. Your wiliness to try something new opens the door to the future. Apostle Paul in writing to the Philippian Christians testified to them on his usual attitude. Philippians 3:13, the Apostle Paul said,

Philippians 3:13

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

Forgetting and reaching call for sequential actions. It is not enough to forget, but you must also reach out. What you refuse to get over will at the long run…you will live under it. If you refuse to get over an attitude you will live under that attitude. If you refuse to forget you will drag like a ball and chain throughout life.

Friends, no amount of conspiracy can stop your dream if it has the seal of GOD. The brothers conspired against Joseph and conceived murder; but Reuben intervened and saved Joseph from being murdered.

In his absence Joseph was sold 20 pieces of silver. The usual price of a slave was 30 pieces of silver – but Joseph was only sold for 20 pieces of silver. It is amazing that one who was sold at a giveaway price of 20 pieces of silver had dreams of generational dimension.

I want to impress upon someone today, your dream will not die. Dream again friends; GOD is on the throne. No one can stop you, only yourself. Hear the prophetic Word of GOD. In the Book of Joel 2:28-30, the bible says,

Joel 2:28-30

28 “And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Yes: you can dream again. Keep your dream alive. None of the dreams of Joseph was unfulfilled. In Genesis 42:6 the records it this way,

Genesis 42:6

Now Joseph was governor over the land; and he was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed themselves down before him with their faces to the earth.

Hello friends, your dreams will come to pass; however, the guarantee is that your dreams must be GOD-inspired; you cannot have access to inspired dreams unless you are in a relationship with GOD through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. How long will you continue to remain indifferent to GOD’s Word? A sure way to drive your dreams is to receive The LORD JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and Savior. Your dreams could be the seed of deliverance to your family or your community.

Joseph could stand and tell his brothers, you meant evil but GOD planned my life.

In Genesis 50:20 Joseph said to his brother, But as for you, you thought evil against me but GOD meant it for good in order to bring it to pass as it is this day to preserve many people alive.

Let us pray.

PRAYER

FATHER in heaven, many of YOUR children have abandoned their dreams – the dreams YOU gave them. I pray for restoration of their dreams and fulfillment of them. In The Name of JESUS CHRIST, rekindle their dreams. As many as are calling on YOU today, have mercy and restore them to Yourself. Those who are backsliding restore back their joy…in JESUS Mighty Name I pray. Amen.
